About Myself
Mohamad Faez? Who is that? Not many people know about him. Sometimes, he also does not know about his true self. He is a boy, who was born on 25th August 1991. He is the first children in his family. His full name is Mohamad Faez Bin Mohamad Sobhei and he was grown up in Banting, his hometown. He is only 5 feet 3 inch high and 49 kg body weight. He looks like a smart boy but not really smart.
During childhood, most people do not have any fixed ambition. So do him. When he was a little boy, he did not know what to be when grown up. In standard one, his teacher asked him what his ambition is. Then, he answered a teacher. Later, he was pointed the same question again and he said he wanted to be a scientist. Now, his ambition is engineer. It is his last and fixed ambition. He wants to be a mechanical engineer. He wants to build a car, which can transform to robot just like Bumblebee. He was inspired by Transformers film by Michael Bay.
It is very difficult to determine his personality. From people view, he looks like an insane boy. But, yes, he is actually a bit crazy. He has an innocent face and he always smile. Every day, he smiles to people even though to people he does not know. Sometime, he smiles without any reason. People think he is unfriendly because he does not talk too much. He is a cheerful guy but he does not know how to cheer up other people. Honest is very essential for him. He is not good in telling a lie. Every time he says the truth. He is very easy to put a trust on other people even though he just knows the people for a day. Watching people is his favourite activity. He likes to watch people appearance and behaviour.
Music is like a drug that can distress people and give peace to people. Faez likes to hear rock music. But, that is not his favourite hobby. He loves to read Japanese comics, which is called ‘manga’. He reads comics at least once a week. This hobby started when he was 14 years old. But, reading novel is better than reading comic because novel has no picture. Thus, it will make brain to think creatively to build the imagination of the novel. His second favourite hobby is watching anime, which are Japanese cartoons. He watches anime in the internet, DVD or from television. Now, he has 8 DVD of anime. He spent at least RM30 per week to buy comics and DVD.
Today, he is studying in KBU International College under scholarship by JPA. This year, he is taking AUSMAT programme and he need to pass this programme as a condition to study in Germany and to achieve his dream to become an engineer. He tries to work hard just like his friends. This is only one of the challenges in order to be success in life.

Viewing log-Spirited away
How does the text relate to the theme of a journey?
The film is about the journey of a ten years old girl, Chihiro, in a spirit world. The story started when her family were moving to a new town and got lost in a mysterious forested pathway. Her father decided to take ‘shortcut’ down the forest and stopped at what seemed to be an abandoned theme park. Curious, her father leaded her family through a tunnel and explored the park. Her parents found a deserted town and a stall full of delicious food. They ate greedily at the stall until they turned into pigs. Her journey in spirit world began in order to turn her parents back to normal again. Chihiro had to work with a witch, Yubaba and the journey changed her in order to become matured and brave.
What is the main issue in the text?
A spoiled child forced into the spirit world. That is the main issue of Spirited away. Chihiro had completely separated with from everything she had known and must find her way back to reality. She had to do work in a bathhouse, which was owned by Yubaba, that she never done such as helping to bathe and serve the most difficult spirits in the bathhouse.
What quality do you admire or dislike in a character?
The character that I like is Haku or Nigihayami Kohaku Nushi. He is a young boy that is a dragon and the spirit of Kohaku River. He is Yubaba’s apprentice. He is kind because he helped Chihiro look after her parents, who had transformed into pigs. He knew Chihiro because he once saved her from drowning in Kohaku River. I feel pity for Haku because he had forgotten his real name and past due to the name change and the curse which Yubaba has placed on him. But Chihiro recalled her memory of falling into the Kohaku River and thus free him from the curse.
How does the text develop your understanding of the world?
In my opinion, the story really helped me thinking about spirit world. I never imagined about the spirits. In Spirited Away, the spirits look like animals and ghosts. Besides, I also understand that hard-working is particularly in nowadays society. Chihiro worked very hard every day and never give up in her willing recover her parents and escape from spirit world. With strong spirit and determination, I believe that success can be achieve.

Reading Log-Alice's Adventures in Wonderland
Alice‘s Adventures in Wonderland by Lewis Carroll
How does the text relate to the theme of a journey?
The text narrates about the journey of Alice in Wonderland. Alice's Adventures in Wonderland represents the child's struggle to survive in the confusing world of adults. To understand our adult world, Alice has to overcome the open-mindedness that is characteristic for children. In Wonderland, she encounters a way of living and reasoning that is quite different from her own. But during the journey through Wonderland, Alice learns to understand the adult world somewhat more. She goes to many different places and meets many characters with weird behaviour, for example, Mad Hatter and March Hare. In fact, she is growing up. This is also represented by her physical changes during the story, the growing and shrinking. At the end of the story, the journey in Wonderland is only a dream but that dream seems so real for her and gave her many good morals in life.
What is the main issue in the text?
The main issue is the behaviour of the characters that Alice meets in Wonderland. They try to baffle her, confuse her, order her about and even behead her. Even the ones who are not directly mean to her are antagonists, as their strange behaviour confuses Alice. Conflict is happening every time Alice meets a new character and is being confronted with its strange rules and behaviour. During the trial, when Alice is called to give evidence. She calls the creatures by their name: 'nothing but a pack of cards' and they all come flying down on her in rage.
What quality do you admire or dislike in a character?
I would prefer my disgust for the character the White Rabbit, which is the first Wonderland character, Alice encounters. She follows him when he hurries into his hole and thereby enters Wonderland. The White Rabbit is nervous and always in a hurry. He appears to be late for his job with the Duchess. While walking through Wonderland, Alice comes upon his house where the White Rabbit, still in a hurry, mistakes her for his housemaid Mary Ann, and orders her to get his gloves and a fan. When she grows and gets stuck in the house, the Rabbit orders Pat to get her out. In the end I discover that the White Rabbit is a herald in the Queen of Heart's court. However, he is confident enough about himself to contradict the King of Hearts.
How does the text develop your understanding of the world?
From the main character of the story, Alice and the story told me many things about the imaginary world, Wonderland through a different perspective. Imagination and creativity are unlimited. I understand of what exactly happened during adolescence. It is very important for us to maintain personality. It shows when Alice arrives in Wonderland, she confuses about her identity. The text also shows that we should not change the way we think just because other people acting differently from us. Thus, we need to cope with their ways and respect their ideas and avoid breaking the rules in their places.
